Edited by: Veronika Radoslavskaya

Italy is experiencing slower adoption of internet banking compared to the European average. According to Eurostat, only 55% of Italians used digital banking services in 2024. This lag puts Italy 6-8 years behind countries like France and Spain, according to Deloitte. Deloitte's Digital Banking Maturity report indicates that mobile banking is driving digital adoption in Italy. Approximately 60% of users utilized mobile banking in 2024, projected to rise to 80% by 2029. Simultaneously, branch visits are expected to decline from 65% in 2024 to 50% in 2029.
