Huawei Schedules February 2026 Madrid Event for Comprehensive Device Ecosystem Refresh
Edited by: Tetiana Pin
Huawei is scheduled to host its HUAWEI Innovative Product Launch in Madrid, Spain, on February 26, 2026, under the theme "Now is Your Run." The event signals a comprehensive refresh across the company's major consumer electronics lines, including smartphones, wearables, tablets, and audio equipment. The strategy centers on targeted advancements in specialized areas such as professional-grade imaging capabilities and personal health monitoring, reinforcing Huawei's commitment to technological evolution across its device portfolio.
The wearable segment is expected to feature the HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2, developed in collaboration with marathon runner Eliud Kipchoge and the dsm-firmenich Running Team. This partnership, formalized on January 5, 2026, integrates Kipchoge's elite experience to refine features, reportedly including advanced running metrics and positioning accuracy intended to enhance training for athletes. The HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate 2 is also anticipated to debut, featuring dual functional innovations such as an enhanced golf mode for outdoor use.
The smartphone division will see the international reintroduction of the HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro, distinguished by the new Iconic Dual Space Rings design. This aesthetic, which forms an '8' vertically and an infinity symbol horizontally, presented a significant manufacturing challenge due to the necessary splicing of aluminum alloy and fiberglass materials. This device will incorporate the True-to-Color Camera System, engineered for advancements in dynamic capture and color fidelity, building upon prior imaging innovations like the Ultra Chroma Camera system.
In the tablet category, the introduction of the HUAWEI MatePad Mini is strategically positioned to complete the MatePad family with a compact, high-specification offering, directly challenging established mini-tablet competitors. The MatePad Mini is noted for its slim profile, measuring 5.1 mm thick and weighing 255 grams, while incorporating an 8.8-inch flexible OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1,800 nits peak brightness. This validation through expert input, such as the collaboration with Kipchoge, aims to bolster Huawei's position in competitive sectors like digital wellness platforms.
The launch event is set to showcase a cohesive, intelligent ecosystem where devices, from the MatePad Mini to the new FreeBuds Pro 5 audio solution, are designed for seamless integration. This focus on a unified user experience underscores Huawei's ongoing commitment to innovation across its product lines despite external market dynamics.
