Google is preparing to launch its new smart speaker, the PixelSnap, in October 2025. This device will integrate the advanced Gemini AI assistant, aiming to provide users with a more intuitive and context-aware home interaction experience.

The PixelSnap is designed with a compact, spherical form factor, featuring an illuminated ring that indicates the AI assistant's activity. It will be available in four color options: red, light green, black, and white. This launch coincides with Google's transition of its smart home devices from the Google Assistant to Gemini, a move intended to enable more natural and context-rich conversations. Gemini Live will offer specialized assistance in various domains, such as culinary arts and technical support.

Engineered for seamless integration with other Google devices, including the Google TV Streamer, the PixelSnap will deliver synchronized spatial audio. It will also support the Matter connectivity standard, ensuring broad compatibility with a wide range of smart home products. Additionally, the speaker will feature sound detection capabilities to identify unusual noises like breaking glass or smoke alarms, enhancing home awareness.

Google's strategic objective with the PixelSnap is to foster a more integrated and efficient smart home ecosystem. By leveraging Gemini's advanced capabilities, the company aims to elevate daily user interactions. The PixelSnap is slated for release through Google's online store and authorized retail partners in October 2025.
