A driverless electric bus was tested in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

  • The Karsan e-Atak model features Level 4 autonomous driving.

  • It can operate 24/7 at speeds up to 40 km/h.

  • The bus follows routes, stops at stations, opens/closes doors, and obeys traffic laws.

Romania's road laws do not allow Level 4 or 5 autonomous vehicles for commercial or passenger transport.

  • The Karsan e-Atak is 8.3 meters long with a 52-passenger capacity.

  • It offers a range of up to 300 km per charge.

  • The bus has been tested in the US and several European countries.
