ROG Strix OLED XG34WCDMTG monitor with Smart TV features

Asus has officially released the ROG Strix OLED XG34WCDMTG gaming monitor, a 34-inch ultrawide display that integrates full smart television capabilities. The product, which was first previewed at Computex 2025, began its retail availability in February 2026, following a delay from its anticipated Q3 or October 2025 window. The monitor is currently listed on the official Asus US store for $1,199, while the UK market price on Amazon is set at £949.

The XG34WCDMTG is built around a second-generation QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display, distinguishing it from the non-smart XG34WCDG model, which is priced at $999. Technical specifications position the display for premium PC gaming, featuring a native resolution of 3440 × 1440 and a 240Hz refresh rate on its curved panel. The display achieves 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, and can reach a peak HDR brightness of 1000 cd/m².

The monitor’s defining feature is the full integration of Google TV, operating on a version of Android 14, which establishes it as a standalone entertainment hub. This smart functionality includes Wi-Fi 6 support, voice control, and wireless projection—features typically reserved for dedicated smart televisions. The inclusion of NVIDIA GeForce Now as a pre-installed application further supports its dual function as a cloud gaming device.

Connectivity options are comprehensive, featuring two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4. A versatile USB-C port provides 90W Power Delivery, enabling the monitor to charge a modern work laptop. To address longevity concerns associated with OLED technology, Asus has implemented its OLED Care Pro suite, which includes pixel-shifting, automatic pixel cleaning, and a Neo Proximity Sensor that dims the screen when the user is absent.

This premium pricing reflects the advanced panel technology and the added software and hardware integration, representing a $200 premium over the standard model. This positioning aligns with broader market trends; industry research projected the QD-OLED display market to grow at a Compound Annual Growth Rate of 22.6% between 2026 and 2033. Specifically, the gaming segment within QD-OLED applications is anticipated to see the fastest growth, exceeding 25% CAGR over the same period, indicating market demand for high-performance, multi-purpose displays.
