Apple WWDC: New Software and iPhone 17 Air

Apple will unveil its new developments at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), promising innovations for users. Free updates are coming to iPhone, iPad, AirPods, MacBook, and Apple Watch, including real-time language translation, combined emojis, and improved battery life.

A major interface redesign is expected, the first in over a decade, inspired by the "transparent calculations" of the Apple Vision Pro. The "Phone," "Camera," and Safari apps will see significant changes. "Phone" will consolidate tabs, Safari will get a new display style, and "Camera" will be enhanced.

Apple plans to rename its software products to align with the release year. iOS 19 will become iOS 26, iPadOS 19 will become iPadOS 26, and macOS 16 will become macOS 26, reflecting their expected 2026 release. This applies to other gadgets as well.

WhatsApp will gain new features, including the ability to send requests for restaurant suggestions and chat background changes. Apple is also reportedly developing a new "Games" application, a portal for all iPhone games, including access to Apple Arcade.

New AI features are planned, including real-time language translation for AirPods users and AI-powered battery optimization. The iPhone 17 Air, expected this fall, will feature a new design, promising to be the thinnest iPhone yet, potentially with a separate charger that includes an external battery. Android 16 is also scheduled for release in the second half of next year.
