China's CIBR and NeuCyber NeuroTech have developed the Beinao No. 1 brain chip. This semi-invasive device is designed for paralyzed patients. It allows users to control devices like robotic arms with their minds. - The Beinao No. 1 chip is implanted on the brain's surface, making it less invasive than Neuralink's design. - It enables users to control smartphones and computers via thought. - Three patients have already received the Beinao No. 1 implant. The entities plan 10 more implants, totaling 13 by the end of 2025. This would surpass Neuralink in the number of human brain implants. A more advanced, invasive chip, Beinao No. 2, is under development for future trials.
