Google's Android Find My Device network is set to receive ultra wide-band (UWB) support. This upgrade enables more precise tracking of lost devices. UWB technology will allow users to locate devices with greater accuracy. With UWB, users can pinpoint the exact location of a lost item. For example, the lost gadget is behind the sofa. This is a significant improvement over current tracking methods. Internal testing shows the network locates items four times faster since the 2024 upgrade. Many top Android phones, like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and Google Pixel 9 Pro, already support UWB. The update is expected to launch soon, possibly at Google I/O 2025 on May 20.
