ClockworkPi Unveils PicoCalc: A Retro Handheld Kit Powered by Raspberry Pi for DIY Enthusiasts

ClockworkPi introduces the PicoCalc, a new handheld kit reminiscent of a graphing calculator, designed for DIY enthusiasts.

  • The PicoCalc features a built-in backlit QWERTY keyboard and a 4-inch IPS LCD display.

  • It is powered by a Raspberry Pi Pico 1 H core module, which includes an RP2040 ARM Cortex-M0+ microcontroller and 264KB of SRAM.

  • The device uses ClockworkPi's custom "v2.0" mainboard, and users can swap the Pico 1 H for Pico 1 WH, Pico 2, or Pico 2W models for increased SRAM, Wi-Fi 4, and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity.

  • It includes a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB-C port, a microSD card slot, and a 32GB SD card with optimized firmware.

  • The kit requires assembly and two 18650 batteries (though it can operate with one).

  • The PicoCalc is available for $75 on ClockworkPi's website.
