VinFast, the Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, is preparing to make a significant entrance at Busworld Europe 2025. The event, scheduled to take place in Brussels, Belgium, from October 3 to October 9, 2025, will serve as the European debut for VinFast's electric bus models. This strategic initiative highlights VinFast's dedication to expanding its global footprint and actively supporting Europe's transition to sustainable transportation.
The centerpiece of VinFast's display will be two advanced electric bus models: the EB 8 and EB 12. These buses have been engineered to meet stringent European Union standards. Notably, the EB 12 has received certification from the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and complies with CE standards, indicating its readiness for the European market and seamless integration into existing transportation systems. Both models are equipped with robust 422 kWh LFP batteries, providing an operational range of up to 400 kilometers on a single charge. They also feature fast-charging capabilities, allowing them to reach approximately 70% charge in about 30 minutes using a 150 kW DC charger, or a full charge in 2-3 hours with a 140 kW power output.
To enhance the passenger and driver experience, these buses incorporate advanced features such as an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), Wi-Fi connectivity, USB charging ports, and a low-level suspension system for improved accessibility. VinFast's participation in Busworld Europe 2025 signifies its intention to penetrate the European public transport sector, with plans to establish strategic partnerships within the transport and infrastructure industries to strengthen its market position.
This move builds on VinFast's existing presence in Europe, which includes the launch of its VF 6 and VF 8 electric SUV models. Prior to their European debut, VinFast's electric buses have been operational in Vietnam for the past four years, contributing to the development of sustainable public transport in major Vietnamese cities. Vietnam's electric bus market is experiencing substantial growth, with projections indicating a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 14.55% between 2025 and 2031. VinFast's ambitions align with Europe's environmental targets, including the goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 43% by 2030 and to have 100% zero-emission buses by 2035.
