Renault has launched its latest offering, the Rafale, a mid-size SUV that marks a significant step into a more premium segment. This new model is distinguished by its advanced hybrid powertrains, including a base E-Tech system with 200 hp and a more powerful Hyper Hybrid E-Tech 4x4 plug-in technology, delivering a robust 300 horsepower. The vehicle's design is a harmonious blend of form and function, measuring 4.71 meters in length, 1.86 meters in width, and 1.61 meters in height. It is available with 20 or 21-inch alloy wheels, contributing to its commanding presence.
The exterior features Renault's signature illuminated logo and triple-diamond daytime running lights. The coupe-like roofline is designed to maintain ample interior headroom, while Matrix LED Vision headlights and advanced "micro-optics" rear lights ensure superior visibility. Inside, the Rafale boasts a technologically advanced cabin centered around the OpenR system, integrating a 12.3-inch driver display and a 12-inch vertical infotainment screen with Google functionalities. The trunk offers a generous 539 liters of storage, and a panoramic glass roof can transition from opaque to transparent at the driver's command.
The Renault Rafale is offered with two hybrid powertrains. The base version features an E-Tech hybrid system producing 200 hp, combining a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine with two electric motors and a small 2 kWh battery. The more powerful Hyper Hybrid E-Tech 4x4 plug-in system combines a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine with three electric motors, collectively producing 300 horsepower. The SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds. Equipped with a 22 kWh battery, it offers an electric-only range of up to 105 kilometers. Recharging the battery to full takes approximately 2 hours and 55 minutes using a 7.4 kW wallbox. The total range with a full tank of fuel and a charged battery can reach up to 1000 km. The driving experience is enhanced by the 4x4 all-wheel-drive system and the Renault Multi-Sense system, allowing drivers to select from Eco, Comfort, Sport, and Snow modes. The Alpine-tuned suspension and 4Control Advanced four-wheel steering system further improve agility and handling.
The Renault Rafale is available in the Greek market in two trim levels: Esprit Alpine and Atelier Alpine. Pricing begins at 51,800 euros for the Esprit Alpine, while the Atelier Alpine trim is priced at 55,900 euros. Renault will present a special preview edition of the Rafale in July 2025, featuring a unique "Bleu Présidence" color and enhanced amenities for official engagements.
