The Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor has achieved a Guinness World Record for the longest journey by an electric vehicle on a single charge in the UK, covering 935.44 kilometers (581.3 miles).
The record-setting journey, which lasted 22 hours and 57 minutes, significantly exceeded the vehicle's WLTP range of 706 km. Driven by professional efficiency drivers Sam Clarke, Kevin Booker, and Richard Parker, the Polestar 3 maintained an average speed of approximately 48 km/h (30 mph) and achieved an efficiency of 12.1 kWh per 100 kilometers. The vehicle, a production-standard model with standard Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires on 20-inch wheels, underwent no special preparation. A Guinness World Records official validated the achievement, with technical support from Webfleet, which logged and verified all essential data. Polestar CEO Michael Lohscheller commented that the record demonstrates the Polestar 3 is setting new standards in electric performance, while Polestar UK Managing Director Matt Galvin noted the impressiveness of a large premium SUV exceeding the distance from London to Edinburgh. The Polestar 3, a luxury mid-size electric SUV, has been produced by Polestar since 2024 and is built on the SPA2 platform, exclusively designed for all-electric vehicles. Production began in Chengdu, China, in February 2024, and in Ridgeville, South Carolina, USA, in August 2024.
