Volkswagen AG and its long-term partner FAW Group plan to introduce 11 new models in China. The lineup includes six battery electric vehicles (BEV), two plug-in hybrids, and two extended-range electric vehicles under the Volkswagen brand, set to debut in China starting in 2026. The first electric model under the Jetta brand will be launched next year, targeting the mass market. New models will feature advanced digital functions, including autonomous driving capabilities and over-the-air updates. Volkswagen aims to sell 4 million vehicles annually in China by 2030. The company plans to launch approximately 40 new models between 2025 and 2027, with over half being electric vehicles. Volkswagen is partnering with Xpeng Inc. for software and hardware development for electric vehicles.
