BMW Unveils Patent Images of the New iX3, First Electric Model on Neue Klasse Platform

The upcoming BMW iX3, set to debut in the second half of 2025, marks the brand's first electric vehicle built on the Neue Klasse platform.

This model features a fresh design language, highlighted by patent images showcasing a dual-grille front bumper and optimized airflow through the lower grille. The design includes horizontally developed front and rear light clusters, with smooth, angular lines.

Battery technology will utilize an 800 Volt architecture, moving away from cylindrical cells supplied by CATL, Eve, and Envision AESC. BMW aims for a range exceeding 600 km under the WLTP cycle, claiming a range advantage of about 30%.

The iX3 will be available in both single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive configurations. This model is anticipated to be the first member of BMW's future electric vehicle lineup.
