Nvidia unveils NVLink fusion tech for AI chip connectivity

Edited by: Veronika Nazarova

Nvidia has introduced NVLink Fusion, a technology designed to connect chips and enhance AI system performance. Taipei Music Center hosted the announcement, revealing the tech's availability to chip designers like Marvell and MediaTek. This allows for the creation of customized AI systems. NVLink Fusion evolves from NVLink, enabling rapid data exchange between chips. Nvidia's GB200 showcases this, combining two Blackwell GPUs with a Grace CPU. CEO Jensen Huang also presented new AI chips, including Blackwell Ultra (2025 release) and DGX Spark for researchers. Qualcomm will develop data center GPUs integrated with Nvidia's technology. This marks Qualcomm's return to the server chip market, leveraging expertise from former Apple designers. The collaboration aims for high-performance, energy-efficient data center computing.
