Bumi is designed for practical utility in both domestic and scholastic settings. Developer demonstrations confirmed its functional capabilities, which include bipedal locomotion such as walking and running, expressive features like dance routines, and accurate response to vocal commands. A key feature is the embedded open programming interface, which allows students and enthusiasts to develop custom training protocols and bespoke scenarios, effectively turning the robot into a hands-on platform for learning artificial intelligence and robotics principles.
This move directly addresses the historical inaccessibility of humanoid robotics due to high costs. This contrasts with Noetix’s previous model, the N2, which, despite securing over 2,500 orders by April 2025 after its debut at a Beijing forum, remained in a higher price category. The sub-$1,500 price point for a fully articulated, bipedal robot is seen as a major inflection point, potentially driving exponential growth in the educational technology market.
