Microsoft's Build conference in Seattle showcased new AI models from xAI, Meta, and updates to GitHub Copilot. These models will be hosted in Microsoft's data centers, enhancing reliability and expanding AI sales.
New AI Models and Azure Integration
Microsoft is adding xAI's Grok 3 and Grok 3 mini, along with Meta's Llama 4, to its Azure offerings, increasing the availability to over 1,900 models. This integration provides developers with more options for building AI applications.
GitHub Copilot Enhancements
GitHub Copilot has been updated with a new coding agent designed to independently complete software coding tasks. The tool receives instructions from a human and alerts the human to review its work upon completion. Starting June 4, 2025, Copilot coding agent will use one premium request per model request the agent makes.
AI Agent Digital Identities
Microsoft is creating digital identities for AI agents, similar to human employees, within corporate systems. This initiative includes Microsoft Entra Agent ID, which assigns unique identities to AI agents built in Copilot Studio and Azure AI Foundry, ensuring secure management and governance.
