Anthropic's Claude Rolls Out Voice Mode to Mobile App Users

Edited by: Veronika Radoslavskaya

Anthropic has launched a voice mode for its Claude AI chatbot mobile app.

The new feature, currently in beta, is available in English to all users, including those on the free plan. Users can access five different Claude voices via the settings menu.

Voice mode allows users to interact with Claude by speaking, similar to voice modes in Gemini and ChatGPT. The AI can check calendars, search Gmail, and draft emails, though Gmail and Google Calendar integrations are limited to paid plans.

Free users can expect 20-30 voice messages before reaching session limits. Paid plans offer significantly higher limits.

This update positions Claude as a digital assistant, putting it on par with competitors like ChatGPT and Gemini. Anthropic has also updated Claude's LLM to Claude Opus 4.0 and Claude Sonnet 4.0.
