AI App Developed by Teenager Detects Heart Problems with 96% Accuracy

A 14-year-old has developed an AI application that can detect early signs of cardiovascular problems in seconds, potentially saving millions of lives.

Siddarth Nandyala's Circadian AI uses a smartphone's microphone to record a user's heartbeat. The sound is then cleaned with advanced noise filtering and analyzed in the cloud using a machine learning model.

The app can identify early signs of arrhythmia, heart valve problems, or heart failure within seconds. It can also recognize patterns related to coronary artery disease.

Clinical trials in the United States and India, involving 15,000 and 3,500 participants respectively, show the app has a 96% accuracy rate. While the most accurate diagnosis still requires medical tools, the app can be an extremely effective preliminary screening tool.

Currently, only doctors can use Circadian AI, but this may change in the future.
