Tour De France's Final Stage Route Change

Edited by: Anna 🌎 Krasko

The final stage of this year's Tour de France will deviate from tradition. Instead of a procession to the Champs Elysees, a demanding route has been introduced. The 21st stage commences from Mantes-la-Ville.

The route includes three ascents up the Butte Montmartre, the same hill that determined the outcome of last year's Olympics road race. The stage culminates on the Champs Elysees. Authorities anticipate a substantial turnout for this stage.

The Tour has concluded on the Champs Elysees annually since 1975, except for 2024 when it ended in Nice. While the Champs Elysees stage is typically a celebratory ride leading to a final sprint, this year's route presents a different dynamic. Despite the challenging climbs, sprint specialists still have a chance to compete for victory.
