Indie duo Water From Your Eyes is set to release their sixth studio album, 'It's A Beautiful Place,' on August 22, 2025, via Matador Records. The album features ten tracks exploring science fiction and existential themes, blending synthetic ambience with influences from grunge and nu-metal. Produced by core members Nate Amos and Rachel Brown, the album also includes contributions from members of Fantasy Of A Broken Heart, namely Al Nardo and Bailey Wollowitz.
To support the new release, Water From Your Eyes will embark on an extensive North American and European tour. The tour is scheduled to commence in Philadelphia on September 22, 2025, with dates planned across various US cities before extending to Europe and the United Kingdom. The band's evolving sound is characterized by a willingness to explore diverse genres, from experimental shoegaze and dream-pop to industrial synths and noise-scapes. This latest offering is noted for its guitar-forward sound, a progression influenced by their recent extensive touring and the addition of a fuller live band.
Nate Amos described the album's thematic core as an exploration of "time, dinosaurs and space," aiming to present a wide range of styles that acknowledge the fleeting nature of existence. Rachel Brown highlighted the influence of visual art, particularly painters like Francis Bacon, on their creative process. The album's themes of cosmic insignificance and existentialism are further explored in tracks like "Nights in Armor" and "Born 2," with the duo citing pre-human geological history and the vastness of space as key inspirations.
Water From Your Eyes continues to push artistic boundaries, offering a cohesive yet sprawling sound. Their live performances are known for embodying this same spirit, with past shows including unique renditions of music videos and performances in unconventional venues. The band's commitment to their artistic vision is evident in their adventurous approach, consistently transforming simple concepts into intriguing outcomes.
