Nigerian artist Tiwa Savage is set to release her highly anticipated fourth studio album, 'This One Is Personal,' on August 29, 2025. This release marks her significant return to full-length projects, following a five-year interval since her acclaimed 2020 album, 'Celia.' The upcoming 15-track album is poised to explore profound themes of personal growth, resilience, love, healing, and heartbreak, delivered through an intimate Afrobeats sound that has become her signature.

'This One Is Personal' was recorded across diverse international locations, including Nashville, London, and Lagos. The project features collaborations with notable artists such as UK rapper Skepta and emerging talent Taves. Savage has described the limited features as intentional, allowing her narrative to remain the central focus and foster a deeper connection with her listeners. The album's titles hint at themes of vulnerability and empowerment, with tracks like "Angel Dust" and "Scared of Love",suggesting a deeply personal exploration of her journey.

In parallel with the album's release, Savage is launching her inaugural headlining North American tour, titled 'Water & Garri.' The tour is scheduled to commence on August 24, 2025, in Washington D.C., and will conclude in Los Angeles on September 17, 2025. Significant stops include Toronto, Atlanta, and Dallas, marking a pivotal moment in her global engagement with fans. This tour follows her previous North American dates in May and June 2022.

The Nigerian music industry, particularly the Afrobeats genre, is experiencing a dynamic period. While 2024 saw a slight recalibration in the genre's global chart performance, 2025 is anticipated to bring a strong resurgence. With major releases expected from artists like Davido and Burna Boy, alongside Savage's new album, the year is poised to be significant for Afrobeats' international presence. Savage's career, which began with her providing backup vocals for global music legends such as Mary J. Blige and George Michael, and includes her studies at Berklee College of Music, exemplifies the dedication driving the genre's global expansion.
