Robbie Williams is releasing a new studio album titled 'Britpop' this autumn. This album marks a return to his musical aspirations post-Take That era. The lead single, 'Rocket,' features Tony Iommi, the guitarist from Black Sabbath.
The music video for 'Rocket,' released this Friday, showcases Williams in a punk-inspired look, complete with red tartan trousers and a biker jacket. The video was filmed across various London locations, with additional scenes in Birmingham featuring Tony Iommi. The album cover pays tribute to his 1995 Glastonbury appearance, depicting Williams in his signature red tracksuit.
Williams describes 'Britpop' as the album he always wanted to create after leaving Take That in 1995. He emphasizes its upbeat vibe, highlighting the prominent guitar work and anthemic quality. To support the album, Williams has launched the 'Britpop' tour this summer, which commenced in Edinburgh on May 31, and includes performances throughout the UK, Ireland, and Europe. A sold-out show at Dublin's Croke Park is scheduled for August 23.
