Edited by: Inna Horoshkina One

Detroit's Hart Plaza will come alive from May 24-26, 2025, as the Movement Electronic Music Festival marks its 25th year. What began as the Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF) has evolved into a cornerstone of the city's cultural identity, drawing approximately 30,000 daily attendees to celebrate Detroit's techno heritage.

Produced by Paxahau since 2006, Movement 2025 boasts a lineup of over 115 acts across six stages. The festival will feature Detroit natives such as Mister Joshooa, Erika Sherman, and Norm Talley, alongside international headliners like Jeff Mills, Charlotte de Witte and John Summit. Carl Craig will perform a special Detroit Love showcase, and Carl Cox will perform his acclaimed Live Set.

Movement offers a diverse range of experiences, from the Detroit Stage showcasing local talent to the Underground Stage featuring emerging artists. Parallel events, including pre-parties and afterparties, such as I.T.'s Return to the Source, extend the celebration beyond the festival grounds. Movement remains a vital platform for artistic evolution, honoring Detroit's role as the birthplace of techno.
