Former Smiths vocalist Morrissey officially announced the tracklist for a new album, confirming a professional alignment with Sire Records. The announcement, delivered on Christmas Day 2025 via the artist's official website alongside the Sire logo, signals a new creative direction, deliberately bypassing the protracted release schedule of his previously announced fourteenth solo effort, *Bonfire of Teenagers*.

The newly revealed project, tentatively titled *You're Right, It's Time*, comprises twelve distinct song titles, including "The Monsters Of Pig Alley" and "You're Right, It's Time." The material for this collection appears to stem from a second complete body of work that Morrissey finished, which underwent significant re-recording sessions in France during late 2023 with producer Joe Chiccarelli at La Fabrique Studios in St-Remy. This record was initially known under the title *Without Music The World Dies* before receiving its current designation.

This new collection is distinct from *Bonfire of Teenagers*, which was produced by Andrew Watt in 2020 and 2021 and featured guest appearances from artists including Iggy Pop, Chad Smith, Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Miley Cyrus, though Cyrus later requested her contribution be removed. The agreement with Sire Records is a significant institutional development, as the label was instrumental in promoting The Smiths in the United States, notably pushing the track "How Soon Is Now?" to American radio.

The signing concludes a period of label instability for Morrissey, who had previously been dropped by BMG in 2020. *Bonfire of Teenagers* has faced repeated delays since its initial announcement in May 2021, with a tentative US release date by Capitol Records in February 2023 ultimately being shelved following Morrissey's departure from that label in December 2022. Morrissey confirmed in April 2024 that he had successfully bought back the rights to both *Bonfire of Teenagers* and his 2014 album *World Peace Is None Of Your Business* from Capitol.

The tracklist for *You're Right, It's Time* includes titles such as "Kerching Kerching," "Lester Bangs," and "Notre-Dame," and excludes material associated with the long-delayed *Bonfire of Teenagers* project. Furthermore, the artist is slated to contribute to A$AP Rocky's forthcoming release, *Don't Be Dumb*, anticipated for January 16. The shift to Sire Records, which operates under Warner Music Group, suggests a potential return to a more consistent release cadence for the artist.
