Lorde has released "Man of the Year," the second single from her upcoming fourth studio album, Virgin, slated for release on June 27, 2025. This follows the release of "What Was That" and offers another glimpse into the artist's evolving sound.

Co-produced by Lorde and Jim-E Stack, "Man of the Year" features maximalist production while retaining Lorde's signature introspective style. The track combines swelling instrumentals and emotionally charged vocals, creating a personal listening experience. Lorde has expressed that this is the song she is most proud of on Virgin.

The music video for "Man of the Year," directed by Grant Singer, complements the song's intensity. The visuals feature fragmented vignettes that mirror the track's emotional complexity. The album's tracklist reveals 11 songs, including titles like "Hammer," "Broken Glass," "Favourite Daughter," and "If She Could See Me Now," hinting at personal, political, and poetic themes.

Virgin appears to combine elements of Melodrama and Solar Power while introducing a fresh sound characterized by lush arrangements and unfiltered lyrics. "Man of the Year" is now available on digital streaming platforms, and Lorde's Ultrasound tour will kick off in September 2025.
