Drake's New Single and Upcoming Album: Chart and Controversy

Edited by: Inna Horoshkina One

Drake's new single, "What Did I Miss?", released on July 5, 2025, is anticipated to debut at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. DJ Akademiks suggests that without a tracking delay, the song might have reached number one.

The single follows Drake's 2023 hit "First Person Shooter," which tied him with Michael Jackson for the most number-one hits by a male solo artist. "What Did I Miss?" delves into the aftermath of Drake's feud with Kendrick Lamar, referencing Lamar's Pop Out concert.

The song contains lines interpreted as a reference to LeBron James's attendance at Kendrick's show. Furthermore, "What Did I Miss?" hints at Drake's ninth studio album, "Iceman," which he announced during a July 4, 2025, livestream. Fans are awaiting the chart debut and the release of "Iceman."
