A collection of early recordings by the band that would become Black Sabbath, under the name Earth, is scheduled for release on July 25, 2025. These recordings, dating back to 1969, offer a glimpse into the band's evolution before they adopted the name Black Sabbath and defined heavy metal.
The album, titled "Earth: The Legendary Lost Tapes," features previously unreleased tracks, demos, and alternative takes. The recordings were made at Zella Studio in Birmingham, England. The tracklist includes songs like "Blue Suede Shoes" and "Wicked World".
The tapes were rediscovered by Jim Simpson, who was the band's first manager. The album will be available on CD and vinyl through Big Bear Records.
