British post-hardcore band Acres has announced the release of an expanded edition of their album 'The Host,' set for September 26, 2025, via Solid State Records. This enhanced version includes three new tracks, with the lead single, 'Push Me Away,' now available. The song features Landon Tewers, frontman of The Plot In You and a notable producer in the core music scene.
The collaboration with Tewers, who also produced the track, marks a significant development for Acres. The band previously worked with Tewers in October 2024 at his studio in Michigan, incorporating new elements like drop tunings into their sound. 'Push Me Away' explores themes of personal doubt and the fear of being a burden, with vocalist Ben Lumber describing it as a "confession of self-doubt." The expanded edition of 'The Host' will also include two additional new songs: 'Take My Last Breath' and 'Welcome To The Family,' which the band refers to as 'the complete & continued version' of the album. Tewers's production work is noted for its meticulous approach and ability to elicit unique performances, shaping the new direction for Acres.
