Salt-N-Pepa, the pioneering rap group featuring DJ Spinderella (Deidra Roper), is set to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2025. The announcement was made on Sunday, celebrating the group's significant impact on music and culture.
The induction ceremony, marking the foundation's anniversary, will take place in Los Angeles on November 8, 2025, at the Peacock Theater. Salt-N-Pepa, consisting of Cheryl "Salt" James, Sandra "Pepa" Denton, and Roper, will receive the Musical Influence Award. This award recognizes artists whose work has profoundly influenced and evolved rock & roll and music.
Salt-N-Pepa rose to prominence in the late 1980s and early 1990s with hits like "Push It" and "Whatta Man." They also addressed socially relevant topics in songs like "Let's Talk About Sex" and "Let's Talk About AIDS (PSA)." Other inductees this year include OutKast, Cyndi Lauper, and The White Stripes.
