Dasha Logan, daughter of the late Datuk Loganathan Arumugam of the band Alleycats, has released an EP featuring reinterpretations of her father's songs. The recording process proved emotional for Dasha, who aimed to honor her father's legacy while adding her own style to the classic tracks.
The EP includes collaborations with her uncle, Datuk David Arumugam, also a founding member of Alleycats. Dasha worked with producer Rozhan Razman, musical arranger Melina Williams, and music director Jennifer Thompson to create a fresh take on the songs while preserving their original essence.
Dasha is prepared for potential criticism, acknowledging that her versions may not surpass the originals in some listeners' eyes. However, her primary goal is to reignite interest in Alleycats' music among both younger and older generations. Her previous single, "Cleverly," reached No. 1 on the UK Soul Chart in 2014.
