Taylor Swift has announced that she finally owns her music catalog. This comes six years after it was sold to Scooter Braun for a reported $300 million in June 2019.

The pop superstar shared the news in an emotional announcement on Friday. She expressed her joy and relief after a long and arduous journey.

Swift regained control of her "entire life's work," including masters, music videos, photos, and unreleased songs. She thanked her fans and Shamrock Capital for their support.

Swift's fight to regain control of her first six masters began in June 2019. Scooter Braun purchased Big Machine Records, acquiring her masters from 2006 to 2017.

Braun later sold Swift's catalog to Shamrock Capital in November 2020. The details of Swift's purchase from Shamrock Capital remain undisclosed.

An insider clarified that Braun was not involved in the deal between Swift and Shamrock Capital. The credit goes to Shamrock Holdings and Taylor's management team.
