Priscilla Presley is currently involved in a significant legal dispute, facing a lawsuit seeking over $50 million in damages. The suit, filed by former business associates Brigitte Kruse and Kevin Fialko in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges fraud and breach of contract.
Kruse and Fialko claim that Presley failed to disclose the sale of licensing rights to her name and image, which they assert occurred in 2005 for $6.5 million. They allege that this crucial information was withheld while they invested substantial resources and time into revitalizing Presley's brand, contributing thousands of hours to brand development and intellectual property enhancement. The plaintiffs contend that Presley's actions were a retaliation for their successful negotiation of a $2.4 million settlement for Presley in a dispute with her granddaughter, Riley Keough, concerning the Elvis estate. They further allege that Presley then breached contracts, defamed them, and initiated her own lawsuit.
This legal action follows an earlier lawsuit filed by Presley herself, which accused Kruse and Fialko of elder abuse and financial exploitation. Kruse and Fialko's legal team has countered these accusations, stating that evidence will demonstrate they are the true victims. They also claim that Presley sought to exploit the death of her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, to strengthen her position within the Elvis Presley estate, alleging that Presley prematurely withdrew life-saving medical treatment for her daughter to gain control of the estate. A spokesperson for Priscilla Presley has vehemently denied these claims, labeling them as baseless and a malicious attempt to tarnish her reputation.
