Nicola Peltz, wife of Brooklyn Beckham, is set to appear for a deposition on October 30 in a lawsuit concerning the death of her chihuahua, Nala. A New York judge ordered the deposition, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly.
Peltz filed the lawsuit against HoundSpa, a New York-based dog grooming company, its owner Deborah Gittleman, and groomer Jony Ceballos. The lawsuit alleges that their actions directly caused Nala's death in June 2024.
Peltz claims Nala, who was nine years old, died due to "groomer's abuse." She alleges issues with Ceballos, who was sent to her home to groom five of her dogs despite these concerns. According to the lawsuit, Nala returned from the grooming van injured and in distress, leading to her death hours later.
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages, claiming Ceballos mistreated and injured Nala. Ceballos has denied any wrongdoing. His attorneys argue that Peltz's lawsuit fails to state a cause of action.
News of the deposition comes amidst reported tensions between Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham's parents, David and Victoria Beckham. Sources indicate the couple has not been in contact with David and Victoria since skipping David's 50th birthday celebration.
Brooklyn is reportedly giving everyone space, focusing on his own life with Nicola in Los Angeles. The family rift remains unresolved.
