Meghan Markle Reportedly Blacklisted From Vogue Over Demands

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is reportedly blacklisted from Vogue magazine. This follows a scrapped cover story in 2022 due to her alleged demands.

The former actress was slated to appear in the September 2022 issue. It was intended to highlight her philanthropic work and appearance at the One Young World Summit.

Sources claim Markle requested excessive control over the shoot. This included the photographer, writer, final edit, and cover lines, which Vogue editors refused.

An insider revealed that Anna Wintour, Vogue's editor-in-chief, intervened. She reportedly banned Markle from appearing in the magazine after hearing about the demands.

Previously, Markle's involvement with British Vogue's 2019 "Faces of Change" edition also raised eyebrows within the Palace. Behind-the-scenes antics were deemed too celebrity-focused.

Royal expert Rebecca English noted that while the Palace supported the project, a promotional video featuring Markle in party hats didn't sit well. It was perceived as straying into "silly celebrity territory."

Markle reportedly requested a Zoom call with Wintour to discuss appearing on both the U.K. and U.S. covers. Wintour declined, leading to the alleged blacklisting.
