Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are planning a lavish two-day wedding in Venice, Italy, scheduled for June 24-26. The guest list includes approximately 250 people, featuring Hollywood stars, politicians like Donald Trump and Ivanka, and celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Eva Longoria, and Diane von Fürstenberg.
Luxury hotels in Venice are reportedly fully booked from June 24-29 to accommodate the high-profile guests. However, the upcoming nuptials are facing opposition from a local activist group. "Laboratorio Morion" plans to protest under the banner "No Space for Bezos" during the wedding.
The group criticizes the event for contributing to the city's commercialization and displacement of residents. A spokesperson stated, "Venice must not become a playground for the super-rich, while citizens have to leave the city because they cannot afford the expensive rents." They also object to the disruption caused to the city's residents.
An insider revealed that Venice is preparing extensively for the arrival of VIPs. The entire fleet of water taxis will reportedly be available to transport guests through the canals. The wedding is anticipated to be a significant social event of 2025, impacting both the couple and the city of Venice.
