Following Ed Sheeran's statement about attending Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco's wedding, the producer has clarified the situation.
Sheeran mentioned he had been invited to the wedding during a 'Vanity Fair' Lie Detector test, leading to speculation about an imminent ceremony. However, Blanco addressed the rumors on the Australian program 'Today'.
Blanco humorously stated, "I just told him, 'I'm getting married and you're coming to the wedding.' I think the papers take everything out of context."
Blanco emphasized that while there are plans to marry, a date has not been set. The invitation to Sheeran was more of a friendly gesture than a formal summons.
"Eventually, Ed will come to our wedding when we have one, but unfortunately, we haven't scheduled one yet," Blanco confirmed, asking fans and the press for patience.
Benny and Selena got engaged in December after 18 months of dating. They have been seen together at events, but they have avoided fueling wedding expectations due to their busy schedules and focus on their music careers.
Their recent collaborative album, 'I Said I Love You First,' released in March, has been their main focus, putting wedding preparations on hold. Selena mentioned in a recent interview that they are immersed in music, and wedding planning will come at the right time.
Benny and Ed Sheeran share a long history of collaboration and friendship, having worked on several hits together, including tracks from Sheeran's albums and co-writing Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself." Benny was also a guest at Sheeran's wedding in 2019.
Sheeran's invitation to the future ceremony reflects their friendship and the couple's relaxed approach to wedding planning. While the public speculates, Benny and Selena are focused on their careers, knowing that love, like good music, cannot be rushed.
