Are Donald And Melania Trump Living Separate Lives? New Speculations Emerge

Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

The marriage of Donald Trump and Melania Trump has been under scrutiny, with reports circulating since his inauguration in January 2025.

Speculation suggests their relationship is merely for show, a rumor that has persisted in Washington, D.C., for years. Biographer Michael Wolff recently made remarks that have fueled this gossip.

"They clearly do not in any way inhabit a marriage as we define marriage...they live separate lives," Wolff stated on "The Daily Beast Podcast." He is the author of "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House."

Wolff further told the podcast host, "They are separated. The president of the United States and the first lady are separated."

White House communications director Steven Cheung responded to Wolff's claims, calling him an "imbecile" with "Trump Derangement Syndrome."

Wolff isn't the only one to suggest marital issues. Melania has been seen looking irritated in public with her husband.

At Trump's first inauguration in January 2017, Melania's facial expressions shifted from a smile to a frown after Donald Trump turned away. In May 2017, she appeared to swat away his hand at Israel's Ben Gurion airport.

Melania addressed the airport incident in her 2024 memoir, stating, "The red carpet simply could not accommodate four of us abreast. It was a minor, innocent gesture, nothing more."

During Trump's second presidential term, Melania rarely appeared in the spotlight. She joined her husband for Pope Francis' funeral on April 26 at the Vatican and made a rare appearance at the White House on May 8 for a Mother's Day reception.
