Blake Lively is facing criticism for incestuous scenes in her new movie, "Another Simple Favor." The actress, 37, stars as Emily in the sequel alongside Anna Kendrick, 39.
A controversial scene depicts Emily kissing her sister Charity, both played by Lively. Charity then drugs Emily, carries her to bed, and kisses her again while she's unresponsive.
Moviegoers expressed disapproval on social media, calling the scene disturbing. Some even brought Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds, into the discussion.
One user on X wrote, "Ummmmm what? Blake Lively is having a SEXUAL relationship with her sister in Another Simple Favor? Yes, INCEST. The acting and script is said to be worst [sic] than a Lifetime movie." Another quipped, "How blake lively once again makes an awful film into a soapy, unforgettable ride: what's a little incest between secret triplets?"
Beyond the incest plotline, viewers also pointed out other errors in the film. Lively is also embroiled in legal battles with Justin Baldoni, her co-star and director from "It Ends With Us," involving allegations of sexual harassment and defamation.
Lively recently spoke about experiencing her "lowest lows" over the past year. She acknowledged the fear that prevents many women from speaking out about their experiences.
