Love Island's Tom Powell: From Reality Tv Star To Animal Rescue Fundraiser

Edited by: Katya Palm Beach

Former Love Island contestant Tom Powell has traded reality TV fame for a life dedicated to animal rescue. Powell, who appeared on the second season of the show, now works as a fundraising coordinator for Llys Nini Animal Rescue Centre in Swansea.

Powell reflected on his time on Love Island, acknowledging both the positive and challenging aspects. He emphasized the support he received from the show's staff, particularly after the tragic passing of his ex-girlfriend and fellow Love Island star, Sophie Gradon.

After Love Island, Powell ventured into the nightclub business in Zante, but the venture was ultimately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. He has since returned to his hometown in Wales and embraced a healthier lifestyle, focusing on fitness and nutrition.

Powell's transition to animal rescue has been a fulfilling one. He has rescued his own dog, Hollie the collie, from the center and is using his platform to raise awareness and funds for animals in need. He is also embracing his role as a stepfather to his girlfriend's eight-year-old child.

Powell is hosting a "Paw-ty" at The Swigg in Swansea to raise money for the animal rescue center. The event will feature a dog show, games, and music, marking his first fundraising event for the charity.
