The collaboration aims to pilot food deliveries via Uber Eats in select U.S. markets by the close of 2025, integrating aerial capabilities into Uber's extensive logistics network. Flytrex brings significant experience and regulatory approval to the partnership. The company has successfully completed over 200,000 meal deliveries and holds crucial FAA approval for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations. This authorization allows drones to be operated without a pilot visually monitoring them, enhancing efficiency and scalability. Flytrex is one of only four companies in the U.S. to have achieved this BVLOS approval, alongside Wing (a Google company), Amazon, and Zipline. This regulatory clearance enables Flytrex to monitor multiple drones from a single operations center, drastically reducing operational costs and increasing delivery throughput. The company has been working with the FAA since 2017, adhering to rigorous testing methodologies similar to traditional aviation to ensure safety and compliance.
