The highly anticipated film adaptation of the Broadway hit "Wicked" features surprise cameos from the original stars Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel.
Chenoweth and Menzel, who originated the roles of Glinda and Elphaba, respectively, in the Broadway production, appear in the film. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo take on the roles of Glinda and Elphaba in the two-part film adaptation.
The film is based on Gregory Maguire's novel, which reimagines the story of "The Wizard of Oz" from the perspective of the witches.
Grande expressed that filming scenes with the original stars was a surreal honor. She views the film as a love letter to the original Broadway show.
"Wicked: Part One" is available now, with "Wicked: For Good" scheduled for release in November.
