Netflix is set to highlight emerging talent from the Asia-Pacific region at the 30th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), which runs from September 17 to September 26, 2025. The festival will feature Netflix's 'Creative Asia' initiative, offering masterclasses and training sessions designed to nurture filmmakers and industry professionals.

The 'Creative Asia' program, a collaboration with the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), will include a series of masterclasses and discussions with renowned creators. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from acclaimed directors such as Guillermo del Toro, celebrated for his work on 'Frankenstein,' and Yeon Sang-ho, known for films like 'Hellbound.' Also sharing their expertise will be Maggie Kang, director of the global hit 'K-Pop Demon Hunters,' and Chen Zhengdao, director of 'Reunion: The Sound of the Providence.' Production design insights will be provided by Yui Miyamori, whose credits include 'Ikusagami: God of War.'

Beyond the master sessions, Netflix and KOCCA are also presenting a 'Screenwriting and Directing Intensive Training Session.' This initiative aims to equip the next generation of storytellers with practical skills and industry knowledge, reinforcing Netflix's commitment to fostering a robust creative ecosystem in Asia. The collaboration with KOCCA, a key government agency supporting Korea's creative industries, further solidifies this commitment by bridging Korean talent with global best practices.

The 30th BIFF itself marks a significant milestone, with an expanded program that includes a record number of film screenings and special events. The festival serves as a crucial nexus for cultural exchange, bringing together diverse narratives and perspectives. The presence of 'Creative Asia' within this esteemed gathering underscores the growing influence of Asian filmmakers and offers them a unique platform to gain visibility and learn from industry masters, ultimately fostering a sustainable film production environment for voices from Asia to resonate worldwide.
