Palermo will host the first edition of the "Kultur Ensemble" film festival from June 23rd to 26th, 2025. This event will spotlight co-productions between France, Germany, and Italy.
The festival will feature four outdoor cinema evenings, exploring contemporary Europe through stories that blend cultures, languages, and diverse perspectives. Palermo's history as a meeting point of cultures makes it an ideal location for this initiative.
The program includes films like "Langue étrangère" by Claire Burger, which portrays the friendship between two teenagers. Also, the documentary "Viva la Libertà! Don Juan, mort et vif" by Mosco Levi Boucault will be screened. "Vena" by Chiara Fleischhacker and "Tell them about us" by Rand Beiruty are also part of the program.
All events will take place at the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa, a space where industrial archaeology meets contemporary culture. The festival is promoted by the French and German Embassies in Italy and organized by Kultur Ensemble Palermo.
The festival aims to celebrate European cinema and promote dialogue through film. It offers a unique opportunity to experience diverse stories in a communal setting.
