The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) will kick off its 50th edition with "John Candy: I Like Me," a documentary directed by Colin Hanks and produced by Ryan Reynolds.
The film, scheduled to premiere on September 4th at Roy Thomson Hall, offers an intimate look at the life of the beloved comedian. Candy, a Toronto native, gained fame through sketch comedy and iconic roles in films like "Spaceballs" and "Uncle Buck."
The documentary promises a candid portrayal of Candy's life, featuring home videos and interviews with family, friends, and collaborators. Amazon MGM is backing the film, which will later debut on Prime Video. The festival itself will run from September 4th to 14th.
