General Pico National Film Festival Concludes, Awarding "El Príncipe de Nanawa" and "¿Dónde está mi amigo Yaré?"

The 9th General Pico National Film Festival, held in La Pampa from August 7-13, 2025, has successfully concluded. Organized by the Asociación Italiana XX de Septiembre, the festival celebrated Argentine cinema, featuring over 40 films and engaging approximately 3,000 students through its "Cine y Escuela" program.

Clarisa Navas's "El Príncipe de Nanawa" received the top honor in the national feature film competition. The film, which explores the life of a young boy on the Paraguay-Argentina border, had previously won the Grand Jury Prize at Visions du Réel. In the national short film category, Leandro Nicolás Zerbatto's "¿Dónde está mi amigo Yaré?" was recognized for its artistic merit. Additionally, "El río siempre fue un color," by Floriana Lazzaneo and Mariana Lombard, was honored as the Best Regional Short Film. The festival also announced that its 10th edition is scheduled for August 6-12, 2026.
