The Disney+ streaming service has officially confirmed that the highly anticipated blockbuster, Captain America: Brave New World, is set to headline its major release program for November 2025. This feature film serves as a direct continuation of the narrative established in the 2021 series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Crucially, the movie marks the official debut of Anthony Mackie's character, Sam Wilson, stepping fully into the iconic role of the new Captain America.

Helmed by director Julius Onah, Captain America: Brave New World holds the distinction of being the 35th cinematic comic book installment within Phase Five of the sprawling Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The core plot revolves around an international conspiracy that ensnares Sam Wilson. This conspiracy directly involves the newly elected President of the United States, Thaddeus Ross, portrayed by veteran actor Harrison Ford.

Ford takes over the role of Ross following the passing of William Hurt, who had played the character since 2008 until his death in March 2022. Adding significant intrigue to his interactions with the new Captain America is Ross's comic book history. Known in the source material and anticipated storylines as “Thunderbolt,” Ross possesses the potential to transform into the formidable Red Hulk, a development that promises high stakes for the narrative.

Despite being cited as a November 2025 headliner for the platform’s overall programming, the MCU entry had a prior theatrical run, premiering globally on February 14, 2025. Its specific streaming premiere date on Disney+ is scheduled for May 28, 2025, arriving just over one hundred days after its initial big-screen release. Financially, the picture performed solidly, generating $415.1 million globally against a production budget of $180 million.

Beyond this key Marvel project, the Disney+ platform is significantly enriching its November catalog with a diverse array of content aimed at a broad audience. Subscribers can look forward to the return of beloved seasonal favorites, including the holiday classic The Grinch and the romantic comedy Last Christmas. Furthermore, the November selection expands its comedy offerings with the addition of titles such as Brice de Nice and the satirical spy film OSS 117. This strategic mix of a major Marvel blockbuster and lighter, seasonal fare ensures the platform maintains a strong slate of offerings as the weather turns colder.

Other notable premieres scheduled for Disney+ in November 2025 include the documentary Fire and Water: The Making of the Avatar Films. Music fans will also be treated to a restored and remastered version of The Beatles Anthology, which features a brand-new ninth episode containing previously unseen footage. Rounding out the list is the animated feature LEGO Marvel Avengers: Strange Tails, which showcases Sam Wilson as Captain America utilizing a redesigned suit based on his appearance in Brave New World. This multi-genre content strategy is clearly designed to solidify the service's position in the highly competitive streaming market toward the end of the year.
