Alex Garland to Direct 'Elden Ring' (Древнее кольцо) Film Adaptation: A24 and Bandai Namco Team Up

Alex Garland, acclaimed for directing films like "Civil War" and "Annihilation," is set to direct the live-action film adaptation of FromSoftware's popular action RPG, "Elden Ring" (Древнее кольцо). The collaboration between A24 and Bandai Namco was announced on May 22, 2025.

Garland will also write the screenplay, bringing his signature style to the dark fantasy world of the Lands Between. George R.R. Martin, who contributed to the game's world-building, will serve as a producer alongside Peter Rice, Andrew Macdonald, and Allon Reich.

In related news, "Elden Ring: Nightreign," a co-op spinoff, is scheduled for release on May 30, 2025. Additionally, "Elden Ring Tarnished Edition" for Nintendo Switch 2 is also planned for release in 2025.
