The 78th Cannes Film Festival, a prestigious celebration of global cinema, is set to take place from May 13th to 24th, 2025. The opening ceremony will be broadcast live and will feature the screening of Amélie Bonnin's 'Leave One Day' ['Partir un Jour']. Attendees are expected to showcase their most elegant attire for this grand event.
'Leave One Day,' directed by Amélie Bonnin, is presented out of competition at the festival. This feature film is an adaptation of Bonnin's short film of the same name, which received the César for Best Fiction Short Film in 2023. Bonnin continues the 'Leave One Day' saga with this highly anticipated longer version.
The film centers on Cécile, a chef who is on the verge of realizing her dream of opening a gourmet restaurant in Paris. However, she returns to her childhood village following her father's heart attack, where she reconnects with her childhood sweetheart. 'Leave One Day' stars Juliette Armanet in her first major film role, alongside Bastien Bouillon, and incorporates popular songs performed by the cast. The film is scheduled for release in theaters on May 14, 2025.
