Moscow is preparing to host the fifth edition of Moscow Fashion Week, scheduled from August 28 to September 2, 2025. The event is set to showcase the work of more than 220 designers from a wide range of countries, including Russia, China, Brazil, India, Turkey, and South Africa. Over 100 runway presentations will take place at prominent Moscow locations such as Zaryadye Park, VDNH, Bolotnaya Square, and the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts.

Complementing the fashion week, the third BRICS+ Fashion Summit will be held in the capital from August 28 to August 30, 2025. This summit aims to gather influential figures, designers, experts, and entrepreneurs from BRICS nations and other global regions, including Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, North America, Oceania, and the Commonwealth of Independent States. The primary goal of the summit is to foster a decentralized and competitive fashion industry ecosystem, encouraging innovation and collaboration.

These combined events highlight Moscow's growing significance as a center for innovation and cultural exchange within the international fashion industry. Fashion weeks are known for their economic impact, driving tourism, hospitality, and retail. For example, New York Fashion Week is estimated to contribute nearly $900 million annually to its host city's economy, while Milan Fashion Week generates tens of millions of euros. Moscow anticipates similar economic benefits, boosting local businesses and enhancing its global appeal.

The BRICS+ Fashion Summit, in particular, represents a shift towards a more inclusive and interconnected global fashion landscape. As emerging markets, notably China and India, increasingly influence international trends, the summit offers a vital platform for these nations to collaborate, share knowledge, and build a more resilient and diverse industry. This initiative reflects the broader trend of fashion serving as both a cultural identifier and a catalyst for economic growth and international cooperation, positioning Moscow at the forefront of this evolving global conversation.
